The Durham Global Mala Yoga Festival is part of a much larger event, with more then 3,000 participating cites.

The purpose of the Global Mala is to unite the global yoga community from every continent to form a " mala around the earth " through collective practices, as the yoga world's offering to further the UN International Peace Day. The Durham Global Mala Yoga Festival is a collaborative event organized solely by the participating studios, we hope that by hosting this day we will bring awareness of yoga’s place in a world yearning for peace and we wish to support local charities, especially those that serve or feed our youth.

This is a non-profit event all proceeds will be divided amongst the local charities we have chosen this year.

Make time to spend the entire day and stay for our closing Kirtan (sing along) with The Traveling Satsang, and peace meditation.

Join us for an amazing day at the Heydenshore Pavilion 589 Water Street, right by the lake at the foot of Brock Rd. in Whitby, Ontario. There are yoga classes to suit all levels including a class for children. Bring a picnic lunch and a blanket, the classes are indoors but we are close to a park and picnic tables.

The fee for the day including 6 yoga classes, the Key Note Speaker, Kirtan and Closing Peace Meditation is only $20.00 in advance by registering at www.runningroom.com or $25.00 at the door, cash or cheque only please.

We will have several vendors there selling jewelry and yoga related products, please bring cash and cheques if you love to shop.
